BUYER’S HINTS
If you are thinking about buying a home now or in the future, it’s a good idea to start by contacting a lender to begin the qualifying process. They will run a quick credit check. (There are several websites that are available to get a FREE credit report.) This will tell you a few things. What your credit score is; if there’s any ‘glitches’ (sometimes, names that are close to yours, may show up and you’ll need to dispute that it’s not your bill); and also show the price range you fall in when buying a home.
SOME INFORMATION NEEDED FOR LOAN APPLICATION
(Some Lender’s May Require More Information)
- Picture ID with proof of Social Security Number
- Residence address—for the past two years
- Names and addresses of each employer—past two years
- Gross monthly salary
- Names, addresses, account #’s and balances of all checking and saving accounts
- Last two months of bank statements
- Names, addresses, account #’s, balances & monthly payments of all open/loan credit cards
- Address of other real estate owned and loan information
- Money for a credit report
- W2′a (2 years) and some lender’s may require current check stubs
- VA ONLY—Certificate of Eligibility or DD 214 (It is quicker for a lender to get a copy of the
Certificate of Eligibility than an individual can.)
